New Makeup Releases: January 2019
There are tons of new makeup releases dropping this year! I have compiled a list of some different products I am interested in purchasing and some.. not so much.
This product comes with a deep
bronzer butter, copper cabana blush, just beachy butter highlighter, 4 butter
eyeshadows, a butter lip cream, and butter paradise eau de toilette (and if you
didn’t know that’s perfume lol). While I do enjoy their butter products and I
am a fan of Casey, this kit does not interest me. The packaging looks bulky and
cheap and there is a lot wasted space left on the box where they could have
added a few more eyeshadows or something. I also know I won’t use the perfume
so for me this is an unreasonable purchase. However, the highlighter is limited
edition and I believe it is exclusive to this collection so if you are dying to
get that I would get this collection and maybe there is a way to depot the
items in this to make it more travel friendly and easier to place in your
collection.
Fenty Beauty has recently released their
newest “collection” which includes concealers that come in FIFTY different
shades, eight pro filtr setting powders, a concealer brush, a setting brush,
and mini makeup sponges. The thing I am most interested in is the setting
powder because I’ve been on the hunt for a really good setting powder recently.
I am not interested in either of the brushes or sponges simply because the
prices of the brushes is just as much if not more than the concealers and setting powders and I already have plenty of brushes in my collection. I am
eyeing the concealers a little bit, however, there have been so many other
concealer releses recently that I am eyeing a little bit more simply because I
have dry combination skin, but I am afraid the matte formula may be a little
too drying on my undereyes. I do appreciate that there is such a strong shade
range and I applaud Rihanna and love supporting her brand.
This blush
does look very pretty and, as I’ve said, I am looking to try more face products
this year, however, this product does not interest me simply because of the
price tag. I would rather spend $38 on some other kind of makeup product.
Especially since I have never tried an hourglass blush- I hope to do so this
year- but I am seriously considering trying one of their ambient lighting
palettes that comes with 6 different products because then I get the opportunity
to try out a bunch of different products and see if I like their formula before
diving in head first and spending a good chunk of money on one product. If you
are someone who knows you like their formula then I would buy this because it
looks really stunning, but for me, someone who’s never tried their products, it
isn’t really worth it to me.

2) Fenty Beauty Concealers and Setting
Powders

3) Kylie
Cosmetics: Blushes, Bronzers, and Kylighters
I am very interested in these products and hope to try them out.
This year I am trying to branch out on different face products and spend more
of my money on those than eyeshadow palettes because I feel like 2018 was a
year of eyeshadow palettes. I am really interested in her bronzers especially,
but I probably will pick up a blush and highlight as well to hopefully get the
free shipping- that is my excuse anyway lol. The shade “baddie on the block” is
the blush shade that is just calling my name! And all the kylighters look
stunning and I’m really excited about the new formula and see how it compares
to her others. I love the packaging and the fact that she is now including a
mirror! I’m loving the direction she is taking her company and how she is
branching out from just lip products. *see below for pictures of some shades *
4) Hourglass Lunar New Year
Ambient Lighting Blush
This blush
does look very pretty and, as I’ve said, I am looking to try more face products
this year, however, this product does not interest me simply because of the
price tag. I would rather spend $38 on some other kind of makeup product.

I hope that this was a helpful list and gave you some more to think about these products and help make your decision on whether or not you need to purchase them! Happy Shopping! xoxo- Lex
