New Makeup Releases: January 2019 (Week 3-4)
Since there have been so many makeup releases and they just keep coming out- I've decided to make this a weekly (or every other week) thing where I share my thoughts on the newest releases and if I will be purchasing them or not. Make sure you check out my thoughts on last week's releases and subscribe your email to get notified every time I release a new post!
1) Too Faced Dew You Luminous Face Primer:
This is a product that definitely interests me especially because I have such dry skin. I always love a glowy makeup look and I feel like right now most companies are coming out with mostly matte products geared more towards oily skin. I love the packaging and I think the watermelon is super cute. It also says that it can be worn alone to make your skin look extra dewy naturally or it can be worn under makeup and I love that idea. I'm also curious as to how it would work as a highlighter over top of makeup so this is definitely a product that I have my eye on.
2) Too Faced Pretty Me$$ Eyeshadow Palette:
This Palette looks very pretty, but it is a mauvey- pink palette which, I feel, we have seen a lot of recently. So I feel that many people may have palettes similar to this in their collection and some of the matte swatches do not look very impressive. I am also not a fan of the layout, which obviously isn't important to the formula, but I just hate how they are turned every which way when there could be room for more shades to fit in the palette. Too Faced's formula does vary as well, but I have a feeling this formula will be more similar with their tartlette palettes rather than their chocolate palettes. Overall, I think I will be skipping out on this palette, simply for the fact that it doesn't really inspire me and I have lots of palettes with this same color story.
3) Kylie Cosmetics Valentine's Day Collection:
On February 1st, Kylie is releasing a new eyeshadow palette, "glitter eyes", 3 new lip sets, and a new blush. The thing I am most interested in from this collection is probably the eyeshadow palette because I think it looks really pretty. It doesn't look like a palette that could only be used on Valentine's Day and I love the pink packaging. It has pinks in it, but there aren't too many and the shades of pink in this palette are pretty unique and the swatches look incredible. The shades February, Be Mine, and Romance, are the ones that are calling my name. The blush also looks really stunning and intrigues me as well. It's a really pretty peachy pink. The "Roses are Red" Glitter looks realy pretty as well, but I don't wear those too frequently and they are kind of pricey and I would rather use that money towards an eyeshadow palette or something else. I'm not really interested in any of the lip kits simply because I'm kind of over buying a ton of different kits. I've found the shades of hers that I really love and suit me and I think I'll just stick to those. I think kylie needs to chill with all the lip kit releases and focus on one thing at a time instead of making a million different collections and really perfecting her formula, but maybe that's just me.
